Jim McKeone, Senior Partner, Boston, MA: Since starting in the institutional insurance market in 1993, Jim has helped banks and other institutional clients customize solutions across a variety of products and markets. He has worked as a producer at M Financial, LongMiller, and Clark Consulting and has been on the forefront of a number of market trends. Jim brings an extensive network within the banking industry and large corporate insurance markets. He holds a BA in Marketing from Michigan State University and MBA from the FW Olin School at Babson College.
Mike Tuttle, Senior Partner, Greensboro, NC: Mike has extensive experience in all aspects of insurance, including the insurance chassis, stable value wrap, representations and warranties, and regulatory and compliance matters (specifically pertaining to OCC and OTS regulatory guidance). Prior to joining IIG, Mike served as a Senior Consultant with Clark Consulting where he developed a national expertise in large scale BOLI transactions. In 2002 Clark Consulting acquired Long Miller & Associates where Mike had served in various capacities since 1995. While at LongMiller, Mike was involved with every aspect of BOLI design and implementation as the firm’s assets under management grew to over $30 billion. Prior to LongMiller, Mike was employed by Ernst & Young, LLP. Mike is a Certified Public Accountant and Registered Securities Representative and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from North Carolina State University.
Matt Henebry, Partner, Hartford, CT: Matt has worked in the BOLI / COLI and Non-Qualified Executive Benefits marketplace for over 16 years. He has extensive experience in the design and implementation of nonqualified benefit plans and customized BOLI / COLI financing solutions. Prior to joining IIG, Matt served as a Senior Consultant at Clark Consulting, helping lead the practice’s efforts in the Northeast and building a client base of financial institutions and other corporations. Prior to Clark Consulting, Matt served as Vice President of CIGNA Corporate Insurance where he led the sales and marketing efforts of CIGNA’s corporate-owned and bank-owned life insurance (COLI and BOLI) businesses. Matt’s in-depth knowledge of institutional insurance product pricing and structure helps him assist companies in evaluating and tailoring plans to their unique needs. Matt graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations, is a Registered Securities Representative, and a licensed insurance representative.
Jonathan Nyland, Partner, Chicago, IL: Jonathan is a 25 year veteran of the BOLI/COLI and executive benefits marketplace. Prior to joining IIG, Jonathan spent 15 years with Clark Consulting, where he was Principal and Managing Director. While at Clark, Jonathan developed a nationwide client base, led the firm’s efforts in the Western region, and has in-depth knowledge and experience working with international banking organizations. Jonathan has extensive experience in all types of BOLI, including general account, hybrid structures, and stable value separate account arrangements. Jonathan holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. He also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations, is a Registered Securities Representative, and a licensed insurance representative.
Larry Stoehr, Partner, Greensboro, NC: Larry has been a prominent figure in the institutional insurance market for over 29 years. Before joining IIG in 2011, he served as Senior Vice President and Consultant with Clark Consulting Inc. From 1999 to 2002, he was a Member of LongMiller & Associates until the firm was acquired by Clark. During his tenure with Clark and LongMiller, Larry shouldered many different responsibilities ranging from the sale, servicing, and restructuring of bank owned life insurance to collaborating with insurance companies and other insurance professionals to develop new product solutions for the institutional market. Prior to joining LongMiller, Larry was a Vice President for New York Life Insurance Company. While at NYL, he was a primary contributor to the company’s foray in to the corporate insurance market. From management and legal responsibilities down to product marketing, Larry helped NYL develop their COLI and BOLI markets and development of the company’s first variable insurance products. Larry holds an MBA with honors from Columbia University School of Business (1988), a JD from Fordham University School of Law (1980), and graduated with a BA with honors from Duke University in 1977. He also holds a CLU from The American College and is a member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting. He is a Registered Securities Representative.
Ian Franke, Boston, MA: Ian is a senior analyst at IIG and has worked in all aspects of the institutional insurance market. His focus at IIG has been to lead the analyst team in the on-going evaluation of insurance/investment products, providers, and industry developments. Having been involved in the financial services markets since 2003, Ian has developed a high level of technical skill and industry expertise. As a main point of contact for IIG, he has been able to greatly assist clients in understanding their options and formulating strategy. He holds a BA in Economics from Colgate University.
Abby Davis, Greensboro, NC: Abby joined IIG in 2010 after 11 years with Clark Consulting (previously LongMiller). While at Clark, she worked with every aspect of the design, implementation, and ongoing servicing of BOLI plans. Most recently she was a Client Relationship Manager responsible for over 30 large bank clients. Abby graduated cum laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance. She is a licensed insurance representative and holds her Series 6 and 63 securities licenses.
Mike Stein, Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN: Mike has worked in the BOLI / COLI and Non-Qualified Executive Benefits marketplace for over 15 years. He has in-depth knowledge and experience in the design, implementation and ongoing servicing of non-qualified benefit plans and BOLI / COLI financing solutions. Prior to joining IIG, Mike spent over 7 years at Clark Consulting in various roles; from plan design to management of a team of client analysts. Most recently at Clark, he served as a Client Relationship Manager overseeing the administration of over 50 Bank clients. Mike was also previously employed as a plan administrator in the corporate-owned and bank-owned life insurance division of Prudential Financial. Mike graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He is a licensed insurance representative and holds both Series 6 and 63 securities licenses.
